Vibewire’s Reelife Film Festival has become an established part of the Australian independent film calendar, featuring the up and coming young Australian filmmakers.

The festival is an annual event and forum for filmmakers to produce cutting edge and progressive films, ranging in genres and styles. Previously, topics have included multiculturalism and identity, disability, sexuality, homelessness, death, logging, rural isolation, environment and militarism.

The festival has been running for six years now, with over 23 screenings in six cities featuring over 80 films.

In 2007 in partnership with the British Council, an international program was added to the festival, showcasing the ‘Best of Young British’.

“Nice Shorts is proud to be a media partner of the Reelife Film Festival, a fantastic platform providing young, aspiring directors with not only a chance to shine, but also – and most importantly – a chance to get issues important to them on to a national stage.”  -  Aaron Roach, Nice Shorts, Content Manager.
